the handle on our salad spinner busted. i had been thinking about trying to make a sweet replacement handle out of a nice hardwood or maybe aluminum. then, as i was digging through a backpack pocket, i noticed an old toy harmonica. somehow, it struck me that it looked to be about the right size to use as the handle on our salad spinner. i confirmed that it was exactly the right size and then rocked that harmonica super hard one last time. with that out of the way, i took that mother to the drill press, and then tied it into place. i only wish that if you gave the arugula a good enough spin the wind passing through the harmonica would make it play a tune.
