scrap circle 21.0 (b)

my original idea for scrap circle 21.0 (b) was to lay out the scraps in two different sections of the piece; each section oriented in different directions.  so the center of the piece would be “cordoned off” into a square where all pieces would be “pointing” east/west.  the surrounding pieces would be “pointing” north/south.  some people have told me that these scrap pieces sometimes have the feel of a city or city map to them.  this made me think that the central “square” should also be taller than the surrounding area (mimicking the downtown/surrounding area of a large metropolitan area).  materials included 3/4″ plywood backer, dowel rods, various woods (e.g. hemlock, pine, bamboo, oak, poplar), pvc pipe, e6000 adhesive, black spray paint.
